Small-batch. Real ingredients. No shortcuts. Every flavor at Frozen Spoon is crafted with the same intensity you'd find in a three-star kitchen — because dessert deserves that much respect.
Frozen Spoon started with a simple frustration: why was good gelato so hard to find in Pittsburgh? We wanted something made with actual ingredients — real fruit, real cream, real chocolate — not the powdered stuff sitting in a freezer.
So we built it ourselves. Every batch is churned in small quantities right here on Liberty Avenue. We source locally when we can, experiment constantly, and throw out anything that doesn't meet our standards. The result? Desserts that actually taste like what they're supposed to taste like.
Our menu rotates constantly. What's good today might be gone tomorrow — and that's by design. Here's a taste of what we've been working with lately.
Single-origin Venezuelan cacao, buttery and intense. Our most ordered flavor for a reason.
Local strawberries with a whisper of aged balsamic. Bright, complex, and completely dairy-free.
Real Sicilian pistachios, roasted and stone-ground. Deep green, buttery, and unlike anything from a tub.
Sweet Alphonso mango gives way to a slow, warming heat. The kind of flavor that makes you do a double-take.
Local wildflower honey and Provençal lavender. Floral without being perfumey — delicate and deeply satisfying.
Double-shot espresso cut with a splash of tonic. Bitter, effervescent, and dangerously smooth.
More flavors every week. Follow our daily rotations or just come in — we save the weird ones for the brave.
Pennsylvania cream, Sicilian nuts, Ecuadorian cacao. We know our suppliers by name.
Small-batch Italian gelato machines. Slower churn = denser, creamier texture. No shortcuts.
Every new flavor goes through taste panels. If it doesn't make us excited, it doesn't make the menu.
Display cases kept at the perfect temperature. Every scoop is consistent, never icy, always velvety.
"The best gelato doesn't announce itself. It just tastes like the real thing — because it is."
Stop by on Liberty Avenue or give us a call. We'll have something waiting for you — and it'll taste like we made it just for you. Because we did.
